Vote for your favorite song for the TOP2000

Have you already voted (and this time not for your favorite political party) for your favorite songs for the list of lists: TOP2000? You can still do so until Monday, December 8, at 4:00 PM. See the link below. Shortly thereafter, around 5:30 PM, the top 10 of the 27th Top 2000 will be announced. The entire list of lists will be revealed on Monday, December 15. Will you choose nostalgia or a song from the last 5 years?

Traditionally, there is a massive vote for songs by deceased artists, both domestically and internationally. This year, voters for the NPO Radio 2 Top 2000 are honoring, among others, Suzan & Freek (Freek's illness), René Karst (1966 – 2025), Rob de Nijs (1942 – 2025), and Golden Earring (George Kooymans (1948-2025)). Or will Marco Borsato score after his acquittal with only songs that climb the Top 2000?

The recently deceased René Karst will presumably debut with 'Better to be too fat in the coffin. Together with Suzan & Freek, he is currently even in the running for the title of 'highest new entry'. The death of George Kooymans of Golden Earring and the acquittal of Marco Borsato are also reflected in the voting behavior. At the top of the list, things remain exciting: among the top twenty, there is still plenty of swapping of places.

“The Top 2000 is generating huge interest among voters. We notice that many listeners are curious about the dynamics of voting behavior,” says Peter de Vries, station manager of NPO Radio 2. “That is why we are lifting the veil a little well before the polls close. It is already clear that the list of lists will once again be a reflection of the past year. But as always with an interim result: anything can still happen. The Top 2000 is and remains the listener’s list: the voters decide until the very last moment.”  

Top 2000 broadcast

The broadcast of the Top 2000 begins on Wednesday, December 24 at 11:00 PM on NPO 3 with a spectacular show. In the TV program De Openingsshow van de Top 2000 (AVROTROS), well-known artists pay tribute to the list of lists for an hour in their own unique style. Artists such as Guus Meeuwis, RONDÉ, DeWolff, Douwe Bob, The Indien, Floor Jansen, Miss Montreal, Zoë Livay, Claudia de Breij, and Eloi Youssef join forces to ensure an unforgettable start with impressive covers from the Top 2000.

 

Top 2000 Cafes

The Top 2000 Café at Beeld & Geluid in Hilversum can once again be visited physically and virtually for seven days, 24 hours a day, during the broadcast of the list. Ticket sales for a live visit to the Top 2000 Café start on Saturday, December 13 at 10:00 AM via nporadio2.nl. Tickets are available exclusively online. During the broadcast of the list, the public can video call via the NPO Radio 2 website with a single click to be present in the Top 2000 Café via TV screens.

 

NPO Radio 2 Top 2000

The NPO Radio 2 Top 2000 is one of the largest radio and music events in the Netherlands, watched and listened to by approximately 10 million people annually. The ultimate list is compiled by the public every year. The 27th Top 2000 can be seen and heard from Christmas Eve at 11:00 PM through New Year's Eve. The broadcast from the Top 2000 Café at Beeld & Geluid in Hilversum can be followed 24 hours a day via NPO Radio 2, nporadio2.nl, NPO 1 extra, and at night on NPO 3. The Top 2000 Opening Show is produced by AVROTROS, and the NTR handles the television broadcasts Top 2000 Quiz, Top 2000: The Untold Stories, and Top 2000 a gogo.
