Netherlands stamp issues July–December 2026: few surprises, a few bright spots
The second half of the 2026 stamp year for the Netherlands seems, at first glance, not very spectacular. Except for the issue. Delfts blue With a value of €14,95, the second issue of 2026 offers hardly any surprising or challenging aspects. Nevertheless, there remain enough moments to pique curiosity, especially when it comes to traditional issues such as the Children's Stamps and December Stamps.
Whether the emission Delfts blue Whether it will actually become a highlight will only become clear on September 7, when the stamps are released. Additionally, it is interesting to see how the annual emissions take shape and whether the series New Dutch Design manages to pull itself together this year. The earlier volumes stood out due to a rather abstract and unappealing design. It remains to be seen whether the third and fourth issues will change that.

July 12 – Mourning stamp (Priority)

August 10 – Experience nature: flora of Saba
August 19 – New Dutch Design: Glow of the Moment
The third partial emission focuses explicitly on the here and now and attempts to visually capture a current moment of experience.
September 7 – Delft Blue
This issue may tie in with the exhibition. Urban Blue – From Bricks to Tiles (March 7 – August 23, 2026). In this exhibition, traditional Delft Blue is renewed with influences from street art. The combination of history and modern expression forms an interesting bridge between craftsmanship and contemporary art – a development that aligns well with a stamp issue.
September 21 – Children's Stamps
The 102nd children's stamp issue, a fixture in the Dutch stamp program.
September 28 – New Dutch Design: Echo of the Celebration
The fourth partial issue looks back: a reflection on the “then and there”, as a counterpart to the previous theme.
October 5 – Delta Works
This issuance focuses on climate adaptation. Dike reinforcement and the renovation of the Oosterscheldekering, among others, underscore the continuing need to protect the Netherlands against rising sea levels and more extreme weather.
November – December stamps 2026
The annual issue, traditionally for the holidays.
Let's be precise with the wording:
It has been 102 years since the first children's stamps were issued in 1924.
No child sickness pills were issued during the war years 1942, 1943, and 1944.
So the 1926 issue is the 99th children's stamp issue.
This year is the 100th issue.
From 1924 to 2026 is 102 years, but 1924 through 2026 is 103 years.
Minus 3 years during the war is therefore 100.
