Route Paris 2024: Wars and sport

Do wars and sport go together or not? Two wars, between Russia and Ukraine and between Israel and Gaza, with many dead and wounded, and yet no ceasefire during the Games. Russia and Belarus have been banned from the Games. Were any stamps issued from those countries? And what has Palestine done?

Ukraine

Ukraine had a total of 19 medals in Tokyo (2021) (1 (gold), 6 (silver), 12 (bronze)). During Paris 2024, the numbers decreased slightly: 3 (gold), 5 (silver), 4 (bronze). A total of 12 medals.

   

 

 

Israel

Israel had a total of 4 medals in Tokyo (2021): 2 (gold) and 2 (bronze). During Paris 2024, the numbers are slightly higher, a total of 7 medals: 1 (gold), 5 (silver), 1 (bronze).

 

Other countries

As far as is known, Russia, Belarus, and Palestine have not issued any Olympic Games stamps.
