Wilhelmina stamp 2In the National Archives, there is a proof print of the 2 1/2 guilder NVPH number 347 with a faint impression of another stamp. Can you tell me which stamp that is? detail stamp Source: Cees Janssen

  1. Come back,
After some digging with a magnifying glass and in the catalogue, I think it is a print of stamp no. 253 Willem I, 5 ct. The commemorative stamps from 1933.
You would think that it should be a stamp from around the issue date of 347 (1939), but the pattern depicted does not fit anywhere.

  2. Jos, the Wilhelmina stamp wasn't issued until 1946, you know. It is just listed a bit earlier in the catalogue because it is actually a stamp from the Konijnenburg series of 1940.
