Stamps that show the future

I am often asked which stamp I consider the most beautiful. I am not sure if I really find it the most beautiful, but I certainly consider the stamps from Liechtenstein shown below to be the most fascinating. Every time I hold them in my hands, I remain fascinated by looking at them and comparing them. I am referring here to three blocks of Liechtenstein. Issued together as a sort of fold-out leaflet in 2016. The blocks show a number of defining faces of Liechtenstein, all three from the same viewpoint. But the remarkable thing is that it is assumed that humans have become extinct. The stamps were designed by the Swiss artist Pierangelo Boog, born in 1957. The first block shows what it looks like after 20 years. the second, how it looks after 100 years, and the third, what it looks like after 500 years. And let's be honest. It is becoming more and more beautiful without us. The series also reminds me of my childhood, when we had a set of seven posters hanging in our primary school classroom that made a great impression on me. A period of just 20 years was depicted here (1953-1972). It started with a beautiful house in a lovely Swiss landscape, around which all sorts of things were built on the subsequent posters. Eventually, the house deteriorated more and more and was demolished. On the last poster, the landscape had changed into a built-up area with a busy highway, and the cat that could be found somewhere on every poster lay run over by the side of the road.
