Stamp dealer Medo in Rotterdam acquired by PostBeeld

Effective October 17th last, PostBeeld has acquired stamp dealer Medo at Nieuwe Binnenweg 255 in Rotterdam. Medo is a stamp shop with a good reputation, established in 1963. It is one of the few stamp shops in the Netherlands with a large, extensive worldwide stock of stamps. From 1992 until this acquisition, Jaap ten Hoorn built the business into a household name in the Rotterdam region and beyond. PostBeeld will continue Medo under the name PostBeeld Medo. Rob Smit, owner of PostBeeld, will personally oversee the conversion of Medo to PostBeeld Medo. Because he also has work in Haarlem, the Rotterdam branch will temporarily be open three days a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:30 to 17:00), where you will meet Rob (for the time being together with the previous owner, Jaap) in person. As soon as the conversion is fully completed and a team has been assembled for the store, the opening hours will be further extended. PostBeeld started with a shop in Haarlem in 1983. That shop is still there, but together with office and warehouse space, it is now housed in four adjacent buildings. PostBeeld has grown primarily (now approximately 20 employees) through its very extensive online store with a large inventory and high turnover. Due to the conversion, Medo's entire large stock will soon also be available via the PostBeeld site become visible and orderable. Conversely, Medo customers will soon also be able to choose from the stock of PostBeeld and other partners.
