PostNL stamp issues for the first half of 2025 and their price tag?
The stamp issuance program appears inviting due to the variety of subjects and the absence of long-running emissions, although unfortunately it does include the "Experience the Nature of Tropical Netherlands" series. The series is attractive as a commercial product, especially for the 'card-sending consumer,' in contrast to the collector, who 'drowns' in the multitude of flora and fauna stamps.
Ten stamp sheets
No fewer than ten emissions will be issued in the first half of 2025, some of which cover subjects that have previously been addressed in a completely different setting. Nevertheless, a few notable features are worth mentioning.Jan 2: Amsterdam 750 years
This year, in contrast to the Amsterdam anniversary commemoration year of 1975 (with an emphasis on the city's socio-geographical aspect), an entirely different facet of Amsterdam throughout the centuries will undoubtedly be featured on a stamp sheet.
Jan 2 / Mar 31 / Jun 9: Experience nature Sint Eustatius birds, butterflies & underwater life
The order of the three stamp sheets corresponds entirely to the order of the Bonaire stamp subjects of 2023.
February 17: New Dutch Design coffee and tea as a ritual
Two stamps depict, through a steaming and warm glow, a striking ritual of social contact / conversation that corresponds to drinking coffee and tea.
The Truly Dutch stamp (nvph 4125) with coffee pot and mug (Boerenbont motif) with steaming coffee, a small spoon, and a waffle cookie aptly symbolizes the atmosphere of a cozy conversation. The December 2023 stamp (nvph 4154) symbolizes social conviviality and hospitality at its finest, with steaming tea in a cup with a tea bag and a treat with cake on the side.
April 21: Roman Giants
The goal of the RomanReuzen project is to contribute to combating the decline in reading, especially among young people. Interviewer Frenk van der Linden and photographer Fjordor Buis want to publish a book about RomanReuzen through 50 portraits and texts by prominent Dutch novelists.
April 21: New Dutch Design greetings as a ritual
A number of Dutch stamps are related in one way or another to this subject as a greeting with hands. Greetings as ritual contact can, of course, also be established in entirely different ways, including with eyes, kisses, and other physical contact.
Both 'Talk-with-the-Hand' stamps (nvph 1878/79), which still meet, will correspond to the Trade Union Movement stamp below. Two intertwined hands (in stylized execution) on the Trade Union Movement stamp (nvph 1421) in a horizontal design correspond to reality better and more realistically than those in a vertical position (caused by text).
Red stripes have been applied to the five defensive (articulate) hands of the Trade Union Movement stamp (NVPH 1922). This demonstrates/illustrates that difficult subjects can nevertheless be made open for discussion and ultimately lead to an agreement.
May 9: Camping in the Netherlands
Two campers (one with a Boy Scout hat) from the 1949 4-cent summer stamp (nvph 515) are cooking their food in front of a tent over a low fire late at night in the summer darkness. Both trekkers through a cornfield from the 5-cent stamp illustrate their daily activity, but in 1948, a mixed trek was absolutely not possible. The National Headquarters of the Scouts Youth Movement reports: “In the entire Scout movement, it is certainly not the custom to trek in mixed groups and camp in a tent!”
9 mei: PostEuropa National Archaelogical Discoveries
Archaeology is the science that studies the remains of ancient cultures, such as those of the Greeks and Romans, with the aim of reconstructing and interpreting the past. These man-made remains, such as artifacts and building fragments, are found during excavations, but also in the sea, lakes, and rivers.
June 9: Post Crossing 20 years
At the initiative of Paula Magalhaes from Portugal, the exchange of postcards with foreign participants via a free account at www.postcrossing.com was established in 2005. For a stamp collector, a foreign stamp on a domestic card further enhances the appeal of the postcrossing activity.
I am very curious to see what the 750 Years of Amsterdam stamp(s) will look like, Bate. I’d say PostNL should bring out something 'innovative' for a change!

I'm not thinking of anything specific yet, Fer.
But when you think of our capital, there are a great many possibilities.
City of refugees (175 nationalities); the Jordaan; the Concertgebouw, Artis. Also the Red Light District, the coffee shops, Johan Cruyff, city of tulips, etc. I'll let myself be surprised,
