Poland has released a set of nice Easter stamps again this year. Just as many Easter cards are sent in Poland as Christmas cards are here. Albert Haan stated this in a comment last year. It is a tradition in Poland for men to throw water over women on Easter Monday. This is said to have healing, cleansing, and fertile effects.Nowadays, throwing water is increasingly becoming a game for children and young people. We do not see this old custom reflected on this year's Polish Easter stamps. Poland opted for a lamb with a flag in the meadow and a basket of Easter eggs.   1. Nice stamps, indeed! Easter is indeed associated with peculiar traditions over there in the former Eastern Bloc: in Poland they throw water over the women, while in the Czech Republic women have to take cover when the men chase them with whips made of twigs and decorated at the end with garlands of crepe paper.

  3. And here is the egg “Tietschen” (tapping)
    We hit a boiled egg against the other.
    The person who breaks the egg has lost. The whole egg then goes into the next Tietsch. Until there is a winner. When the eggs run out.
    For example, there is a competition in some cafes at Easter.
    You really must eat the broken egg.

  6. Another tradition here.
    On Easter Sunday, colored eggs are hidden in the garden early in the morning by Father or Mother.
    When the children wake up, we tell them that the Easter Bunny has hidden the eggs in the garden.
    It is wonderful to see the children roaming through the garden and searching for the eggs.
    Even with older children (who know that dad or mom has hidden them), it is fun to see who finds the most eggs. Sport, Play, Excitement.

  8. More and more people think of the Easter Bunny at Easter, while in reality the Easter Bunny has nothing to do with Easter, just as Santa Claus has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas, but was invented by Coca-Cola for advertising!!!

    At Easter and Christmas, you must think of God, and not of advertising characters!!!
