Official NVPH statement regarding Post Tegel.
POST”TILE”

Recently, PostNL issued a 'stamp' in the shape of a 21,1-gram 'Delft Blue' tile.
This tile has the postage value 'Rate 1' (valued at €1.40) and is sold by PostNL for €14,95.
The catalogue committee is of the opinion that this object—like the silver and gold stamps—is an issue harmful to philately and will NOT include in the NVPH catalogue.
The arguments for this are twofold:
- The price at which the object is sold is a multiple of the nominal value.
- Due to its design, this object is not suitable for the purpose for which it was intended, namely franking a postal item up to 20 grams.
The Catalogue Committee of the NVPH believes that this is therefore a souvenir product without philatelic relevance.
Also the First Day envelope of this object, which does not bear an NVPH number, will be NOT included in the NVPH catalogue.
The contrived numbered stamp folder will be referred to as delivered—i.e., empty—with an appropriate explanation.
The 'post tile' therefore has no effect on the numbering either.
The position of the Catalogue Committee is shared with the board of the NVPH.
