Even more special date stamps
In response to the article 'Nine nine nineFollowing Kees Verhulst's ', Cees Janssen sent a few more special date stamps. The first is from Amsterdam, featuring the 'crazy number' 11 three times. November 11th is the 315th day of the year, or 50 days before New Year's Eve. But November 11th is also the start of the carnival season (11th of the 11th). On November 11th, at 11:11 AM, the first meetings of the Councils of Eleven are held in preparation for the upcoming carnival.
The second stamp comes from Bovenkarspel Grootebroek. This stamp bears the date February 22, '22. There isn't very much to report about this day, except for the football fans among us… Rinus Schaap was born on this day. Rinus played 13 times for the Dutch national team. And since 1991, the Municipality of Hilversum has annually awarded the Rinus Schaap Prize to a resident who has distinguished themselves as a volunteer for sports.

November 11 is also the day the First World War ended, and wasn't that at exactly 11 o'clock as well? In any case, the war is commemorated every year here in Great Britain on that day.
