Newly spotted stamps 2015/5

Many new stamps on a wide variety of subjects are released on a regular basis. Below you will find a selection of recently issued stamps from around the world. The 2015 Europa stamps have old toys as their theme. Two examples from Azerbaijan and San Marino: The stamps from Azerbaijan show a teddy bear, a wooden train, and blocks. The stamps from San Marino show a rocking horse and a small car. In 1935, a meeting of the Chinese Communist Party took place in Zunyi, China. During this meeting, Mao Zedong seized power within the party. 80 years later, a series of stamps is being dedicated to this event. The village of Sainte-Adresse in Normandy housed the Belgian government-in-exile during the First World War. Naturally, many stamps are being issued these years, exactly a century after this war. Attention is also being paid to this event, specifically on two stamps from France. The First World War also had effects on the other side of the world: on September 22, 1914, Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia, was bombarded by German warships. A century later, French Polynesia issued this stamp in commemoration. Plze?, better known here by its German name Pilsen, is one of the two European Capitals of Culture this year (the other is Bergen (Mons) in Wallonia). This event is being highlighted once again in the Czech Republic by this stamp issue. In 2014, a joint issue was released by several countries in the Indian Ocean, namely France (due to Réunion), Mauritius, the Comoros, Madagascar, TAAF (The Southern and Antarctic Territories of France), and the Seychelles.
