Every year on March 1st, it is National Compliment Day (24th edition). Giving a compliment when something goes well. In practice, we do this too little. National Compliment Day is purely about sincere 'personal attention' and 'expressed appreciation'. Two 'things' that simply cannot be bought, but which touch people most deeply (probably precisely for that reason). This also explains why the success of this day cannot and should not be bought. “'Buying off' personal words and attention with a gift is therefore not the intention on March 1st,” says Hans Poortvliet, the initiator.
