Children's Stamps 2025: together against loneliness

Yesterday, on September 24, the school campaign 'Door het voor het kind' (Through it for the child) was launched at 12:00 PM. The children's stamp sheet was designed by the well-known cartoonist Jan van Haasteren, who is also very popular for his jigsaw puzzles full of jokes and details: “The stamp design is based on an earlier drawing of mine. I developed a detail of children playing in a sandbox and adapted it into the cheerful stamp sheet.” View this article on the 2025 children's stamp, compiled in a reasonably short time, as an orienting and inventorying introduction. It may well be necessary to make improvements and adjustments afterwards. Preliminary exploratory and inventory meeting – On a tiled schoolyard with a sandbox, twelve schoolchildren are enthusiastically, cheerfully, and engagedly engaged in their activities, either in groups or individually. Everyone participates in their own way. – The image on the stamp sheet is divided into three vertical bands, including the left edge of the sheet, featuring a few 'collaborators'. 1) on the right two stamps one below the other Three children are deeply engrossed in their game of spinning tops or marbles – the kneeling child in the foreground tosses a top, whereupon the child in the wheelchair tosses a marble. The child in the background watches intently. – In the bottom right, not only is a spy under the tiles partially visible, but a bird is also paying attention to a schoolbag. 2) In the middle, one large-format stamp – Two children dressed as police officers are sitting in and on the edge of a sandbox. They are paying attention to the children's stamp campaign folder, two others of which lie on the ground and the edge of the sandbox. – In the foreground, a girl is reading a book by herself, fully absorbed. – In the background, a girl on roller skates speeds past the sandbox. 3) on the left two stamps one below the other – Also in the foreground, a boy is reading by himself, giving his full attention to a book. A squirrel sits to his right. – Diagonally behind the reader, a girl with a large bow in her hair has, to her horror, miraculously managed to bury herself in the sand with a shovel. – In the background, a boy is baking sand pies with a mold. A dog watches his baking with interest. 4) left sheet margin with two striking details – A shark is searching for attractive items with its fins in a wastebasket containing a plaster. A pencil and a magnifying glass on the ground are the first finds. – A boy draws the attention of a girl (with her arm in a cloth) to both reading children on the right, pointing with his index finger. The drawing is also available this year as a special edition jigsaw puzzle for €14,50.
