Jan van Haasteren designs Children's Stamps 2025

Over 100.000 children from groups 7 and 8 will go door-to-door starting September 24.

The Hague, September 24, 2025 – The renowned cartoonist Jan van Haasteren has designed the 2025 children's stamps. For the first time in years, Van Haasteren designed them himself again, which makes this stamp sheet extra special. This year, the children's stamp campaign is themed 'Together against loneliness,' and the colorful drawing of a sandbox full of playing children powerfully brings the message of playing together and being connected to life. The 2025 children's stamp campaign officially launches today, September 24.
Cheerful design with hidden jokes
The stamp sheet is designed in the recognizable 'Van Haasteren' style:
Colorful, friendly, and approachable, with humor that is sometimes absurdist. The sheet consists of five stamps featuring a total of twelve children playing, reading, and having fun together. Unexpected animals appear among them, from a squid and a snake to a turtle, snail, and dog. As always with Van Haasteren, countless funny details are hidden. Van Haasteren himself calls it special that his drawing is now on stamps: Some of the most prominent figures have preceded me: Dick Bruna, Marten Toonder, Jan Kruis, and Joost Swarte, for example. I consider it a great honor to now stand in this list as well.
Together against loneliness
The theme of the 2025 Children's Stamp Campaign is Together against loneliness. In the Netherlands, 1 in 10 children feels lonely every day. This means that, on average, 2 to 3 children in every class experience loneliness often or always. Kinderpostzegels is committed to helping these children with a safe place, access to sports and games, and the support of a buddy with whom they can share their story.
Availability
The children's stamps will be sold door-to-door by over one hundred thousand children from groups 7 and 8 from September 24 to October 1, 2025. From October 6, 2025, the stamps will also be available at the usual points of sale, while stocks last.
Since 1924, PostNL has been issuing children's stamps in support of the mission of Kinderpostzegels: to commit to equal development opportunities for children, both in the Netherlands and abroad. The proceeds from the annual children's stamp campaign make projects possible that strengthen children's resilience.
