International exhibition for philatelic literature

The German Philatelist Association (Bund Deutscher Philatelisten eV) is organizing a specialized international exhibition for the Literature class from 2 to 4 November 2012. The exhibition is named IPHLA 2012 and is equivalent to a Category 1 exhibition. IPHLA 2012 has received the patronage of the FEPA and the AIJP. The exhibition is taking place in the Mainz City Hall (Rathaus) with the cooperation of the Gutenberg Museum. Johannes Gutenberg, born in Mainz, is called by many the 'greatest inventor of the millennium'. However, he was not the inventor of printing, but of the application of movable type for the assembly of printing plates. This exhibition is not being organized because of Gutenberg, but because the first printed philatelic publications appeared in Europe in 1862. Therefore, the 150th anniversary is being celebrated in 2012 together with philatelic authors and journalists. Participation in this exhibition is possible with publications covering all facets of philately. The submission must be written in one of the European languages ​​and must have been published. Manuscripts will not be considered. Submissions in the form of CD-ROMs and DVDs are permitted. Philatelic websites may also be submitted. Submissions are accepted by both authors and publishers. Previous awards for the submissions are not required. The organizing committee decides whether or not to accept the submissions. The participation fee is 30 euros per submission. A commissioner for this exhibition has not been appointed by the KNBF.
