Does the stamp printing industry have a future?

post stamps
postzA wish of many collectors: to see how a stamp is printed! But you don't just walk into a printing house like that. And yet, you can now take a look inside the sturdy walls of the Joh. Enschedé printing house in Haarlem. Meet the director, Arie Piet, and see what his opinion is on the future of the stamp. But it is not only the printer who has an opinion, also TNTPost voice his opinion! bijplakken-086.jpg Do you also have so much trouble adding extra stamps when the rates are changed? joh-enschede2.jpg

There may be a solution for that as well. Take a look inside the TNT Studio and see and hear what the future of the postage stamp looks like.

  1. Nice to see.
The volume of mail is decreasing. The production of stamps remains the same. Conclusion:……fill in the blanks, philatelist.
News item: Following the example of other countries, a stamp without a value indication will be introduced for a standard letter, to prevent “extra letter annoyance”.

  2. So, when in 10 years or so there are no more stamps on mail, the philatelist will be the only one collecting them, and we might as well move on to cigar bands, because those will be much rarer then, since smoking will be completely illegal by that time.

We're being silly again! I started with cigar bands and you surely don't think that's coming back???

Emails are gradually getting lost, or was Suffering trouble here??

  4. When I'm 100 and hanging over my albums, drooling, in the socialist warehouse, stamps will still exist as a means of postage. A letter with a nice stamp in the mailbox is just like the newspaper falling on the doormat. ;) Nice video, by the way! It makes me drool…

  5. I agree with you, Johan. But many people say that an email can also be very 'personal' and is cheaper, besides. Do you agree with that?
