Hey, I recognize that from the stamps!

When I’m traveling, I regularly come across something I’ve seen before. “Hey, I recognize that,” I sometimes let slip. “From the stamps, I suppose?” my girlfriend usually says. And yes, indeed, from the stamps. Actually, it is really fun to look up the stamps of the places you have visited or want to visit, either afterwards or in advance. Do you have similar experiences, or do you perhaps even let stamps inspire your travels? Send your photos and stories to Postzegelblog and we will turn them into a fun article!

  1. For example, my family and I were in Berlin a few years ago when we drove past a monument.

I was able to explain then that it was the monument to the airlift that was launched after the Second World War to help the population of West Berlin.
Then my better half also made the remark, "You must have a stamp of that."

  2. This is very relatable, both beforehand and afterwards (and also the reaction of fellow travelers). For me, it often works the same way: I enjoy collecting the stamps from places/museums etc. I have visited.
