King Willem-Alexander postage stamps with the year 2014
It was actually to be expected. Last year, the new postage stamps of King Willem-Alexander featuring the year 2013 were released. By now, the first examples with the year 2014 have surfaced.
The blue stamp with rate 1 was sighted first, but examples of the 'international' rate with the year 2014 are now also known. We have not yet received any reports of the red stamp with rate 2.
The blue stamp with the year 2014 is now available for purchase in many places. We are curious to know what the earliest known cancellation date will be and hereby call upon our readers to report this. Naturally, this also applies to the other rates.
The barcode and item number on the sheets are the same for the 2013 or 2014 stamps. It therefore appears that PostNL will not be delivering these stamps in the annual sets. Because the year is present in the stamp image, the NVPH will include the 2014 year stamps as new master issues. The catalogue committee has decided to include the year variants in the catalogue at the end of the year (after the December stamps), for both 2014 and any subsequent years. Davo will presumably release an optional sheet for these stamps. 
The earliest cancellation date I can find on my stamps is July 7.
I think it's nonsense that the stamps are going to be given a master number. One master number, ending in a, b, c, etcetera, is a much better option in my opinion. It's also much easier for catalog users, just all WA stamps on one page, one below the other.
But new main issues will likely have a more significant commercial edge again. Just think of the extra sales of all those new printings once they all appear in those pre-printed albums. After all, the shelf-stockers want to keep their collection complete.

I'm starting to get really short-sighted, but I can't spot those years on the stamps shown. By the way, I think the stamp looks more like a blue blob than a clear image on the letter anyway.
The first cancellation of Willem-Alexander 1 (so blue) with the year 2014 under my stamps is on April 10 (Amsterdam).
Look carefully and you will find it.
In my stock 3 x 2014 with stamp dates ?-VII.14 and -6.VIII.14.
Who is next?
It helps, at least, that no year is printed on the business roll stamps issued in January 2014. This is in contrast to their predecessors.

I only have a few now, but... with ugly flag stamps. No date visible. By the way, I just read that Post NL has received permission to offer such a block for 6,90 euros starting January 1st.

I have a stamp of Willem Alexander from 2014, and the year 2014 is at the top, against the serrated edge.
Now my question is, is anything known about that?
