Dutch Bio Science Week in Leiden

The Dutch Science Week will be held in Leiden from June 28 to July 6, 2025. The Bio Science Park and other scientific institutes will be open to you and your children. Demonstrations, exhibitions, and workshops will be presented to interested visitors throughout this week. If you are planning to visit Leiden anyway, you can combine it nicely with this event.

The Leiden Knowledge Festival for everyone's health and well-being (June 28)

How can you live a long and enjoyable life in Leiden? Discover this on June 28 during the Knowledge Festival on Health and Well-being at the Leiden Healthy Society Center. On June 28 from 11:00 AM to 16:00 PM in the Hooglandse Kerk, you will see in a fun way everything that is happening in Leiden in the field of health and well-being. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. The Leiden Knowledge Festival offers a diverse program with dozens of interactive activities, workshops, games, quizzes, and lectures. Visit a mobile MRI machine and the Bus to the Future. Come abseil or take the well-being check, examine your own exercise habits, and improve your health with virtual reality.

There are also interesting mini-lectures by Leiden health experts such as Rebecca Schaefer, Karlijn Krijgsman, Hanneke Hulst, Shelley van der Veek, and Carlijn Bergwerff on nutrition, mental health in young people, or what music does to your brain. Be inspired by the keynote by none other than Olympic swimming champion. Martin van der WeijdenHe takes you along in his unique story, in which he tells how health was not a given for him and how his coach played a decisive role on the road to Olympic gold. Leiden Bio Science Park Open Day (July 5)

This event promises a day full of discoveries and learning opportunities, suitable for all ages from 4 to 104. Discover what happens in the secret laboratories and buildings through laboratory tours, hands-on workshops, and enlightening lectures.

From 10:00 to 15:00, you can enjoy workshops, games, tours, and more. We are working hard on the program and will reveal more as the day approaches. Organizations that have joined the program:
