A dickpic/titpic/clitpic is an unsolicited photo of the penis of an (unknown) man, or the breasts or vagina of an (unknown) woman. This is perceived as negative sexual advances. Ajax On July 6, 2012, Overmars was appointed Director of Football Affairs at AFC Ajax. Overmars focused on transfer matters and the youth academy, among other things, and also became Head of Scouting. Overmars held a contract with Ajax until November 2024. In January 2022, this was extended until June 30, 2026, but he was forced to step down a month later due to inappropriate behavior.
Unacceptable behavior
On February 6, 2022, Overmars resigned with immediate effect as Director of Football Affairs at AFC Ajax due to “sending inappropriate messages to multiple female colleagues over an extended period.” Several female employees accused him, among other things, of sending unwanted photos of his genitalsHis departure and the reason were big news in the Netherlands. His youth club SV Epe removed his name from the traditional local Easter tournament, which had been called the Marc Overmars Easter Tournament since 2003.
In accordance with the law, Ajax reported the transgressive behavior of its former Director of Football Affairs to the Dutch Institute for Sports Jurisprudence (ISR) as early as February. The disciplinary committee ultimately deemed only the complaint proven from a whistleblower who had received three hundred pages of predominantly one-sided sexually suggestive WhatsApp messages from Overmars.
On November 16, 2023, Overmars was suspended by the ISR for one year as a sports administrator, plus an equal period conditionally with a probationary period of two years. The suspension took effect only within the Dutch borders, where Overmars was not working at the time. In January 2024, the international football association FIFA adopted the imposed penalty, forcing Overmars to resign from his position as technical director at the Belgian club Royal Antwerp. He appealed to FIFA but lost. Challenging the conviction at the CAS was also a possibility, but Overmars decided not to pursue further legal action and to accept his punishment.
