2024 December stamps with style & lighthearted, cheerful humor
An embargo applies to seven of the ten different 2024 December stamps until Monday, November 18, the issue date of this new issue. PostNL already published three stamps a few days ago, which are highlighted in this article as a preview.
Graphic designer Marieke Ruts He not only designs these three December stamps with style, but also postcards as an illustrator. Some of these cards can be elevated to a maximum card due to partial visual resemblance to the stamp.

Starting Monday, the remaining stamps from the entire sheet of 20 stamps will be displayed, featuring 10 different December scenes.

The girl embraces the rootless Christmas tree as a welcome Christmas decoration, and dachshund Frits is on his way with presents. It's quite a job to transport the tree!
A sleigh loaded with Christmas packages (one even features the PostNL logo). The robin on the box acts as the driver (instead of Santa Claus), flying the sleigh at high speed over the pine forest, heading purposefully towards the addressee recipients.
Dachshund Frits, with his festive horn, carries a box filled with Christmas mail on his back to the addressees, while the good-humored Christmas walking duck, acting as a mail carrier, will triumphantly deposit just one stamped envelope in a recipient's letterbox. Meanwhile, the robin beats the drum with cheerful drumming.

I don't understand this embargo. The Albert Heijn flyer already has a complete image. This flyer was already on the doormat on Friday. And why an embargo? There are also postal administrations that provide a full annual overview.
Since the start of the December stamps in 1987, they have wanted to keep things exciting. You see this happening in more countries nowadays. At one time, you would receive information and images of new stamps from the postal administration 4-6 weeks in advance. By creating more exciting moments, they aim to increase attention.
