The bicycle at the 1992 Olympic Games (8)

The Summer Olympic Games of the XXV Olympiad were held in Barcelona in 1992. The residence of the then IOC president. JA Samaranch was chosen over Amsterdam, Belgrade, Birmingham, Brisbane, and Paris. The ceremonies and athletics took place at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys. Dutch cycling performances in Barcelona

Léon van Bon, Silver in the points race. Erik Decker managed to claim the silver. This after Richard Groenendaal en Rob Compas ensured that Dekker and two fellow escapees stayed out of the clutches of the peloton. Ingrid Haringa won bronze in the 1000 meter Sprint and Monique Knol won bronze in the road race. Leontien van Moorsel, individual pursuit in the 3000 meters, eighth place.
