Crypto stamps 2024 from four countries

Four European postal services are jointly issuing a crypto stamp: the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Luxembourg. Each country has its own stamp featuring a dragon. If you place them next to each other in a square, they form a single whole. Do you need four stamps for your collection? Or do you only collect your own country? Speaking is the designer of the crypto stamp, Austrian Lisa Filzi (33).

Austrian Lisa Filzi (33) heard that the Austrian Post was launching crypto stamps in 2019. The Post received a lot of media attention and the stamps sold out quickly. Filzi is also interested in the world of crypto and blockchain herself. Last year, Filzi also designed the crypto stamps (lion) for three countries. Now for four countries.

 

Designing the 2024 crypto stamp

Austria's crypto stamps have always featured animals. The first was a unicorn, the second a bear, and the third a whale. According to Filzi, these are animals that symbolize an aspect of crypto: money, and investing.

Filzi chose the dragon (fantasy creature) for this joint release. This provides the opportunity to develop four different dragons and, above all, to dress them up.

A mood board was used. A mood board, or 'atmosphere board', is actually exactly what it says: a board filled with images, colors, and notes that capture the atmosphere and feeling of a particular concept or idea. Whether it concerns product development, interior design, or branding, a mood board helps to make ideas tangible. For this design, Filzi opted for very bright colors.

The issue is the size of a bank card. The 'physical' stamp is in the center. The four issues from the different countries form a beautiful whole. A dark background was chosen to contrast with the fierce dragons. There are two ways to put them together, just like a puzzle.
