Cheerful, atmospheric children's stamps 2026

Two talented friends from Brabant (who met at art school), Femque Geffen and Janneke Dröge, are the founders of “Blond Amsterdam”. Since 2001, the name has referred to the blonde hair of both ladies and the country's capital.

Initially, their creations appeared only on tableware; subsequently, their field of work expanded considerably to include greeting cards, T-shirts, and duvet covers, among other things.

Joyful, atmospheric children's stamps

In the composition of the 2026 children's stamps, depth is suggested by means of overlapping planes. The image is divided into two drawn layers (plans), namely that of the flat foreground and that of the flat background. Both plans partially overlap each other, corresponding to the effect of a diorama. In terms of design, this execution is described as a stage-stage arrangement or effect.

The hand-drawn areas of the line drawing are rendered in exuberant, bright, and cheerful colors. The children with rosy faces have red blushes on their cheeks. The colors in the foreground are more intense than those of the lighter background. This color contrast creates a sense of depth through color perspective.

A playful, lively dynamic is present in the spontaneous, fluid, and skillfully executed drawings of children, with an infectious, vibrant energy. The appealing joie de vivre is clearly visible.

The margin around the stamps is cheerfully and sunnily decorated with extra stickers, which can be used to brighten up a letter or card. The day 'smiles' at you infectiously full of joy, which can be enhanced even more with a letter featuring a heart sticker.

It is worth mentioning that the sheet with five children's stamps is only available through the PostNL Collectclub. The sheet with four children's stamps can only be obtained through the school campaign.

Children's stamps with ordinary everyday moments

The sticker stamps in the shape of houses or parts thereof draw attention to everyday moments that should actually be a matter of course for every child. After all, doesn't every child deserve a safe foundation to grow up in? Hence the 2026 children's stamp motto: 'Growing up safely, that's just a must'.

Just normal daytime activities

During the day, snuggle up comfortably with a book in a big armchair.

On a bicycle with his dog and a crutch under his arm, a disabled child explores the world.

Performing athletic antics under watchful eyes in front of an Amsterdam canal house.

Both of us make preparations for the hot meal.

Go to bed with the favorite bear in the evening.

In the stamp arrangement above, the middle stamp is literally and figuratively the highlight in terms of activity relative to the girl cycling and the working duo in the kitchen. The first and last stamps of the series exude domestic peace and contentment.

December stamps 2009: playful performance

Blond Amsterdam also designed the 2009 December stamps. This issue also features foreground and background images. Sometimes you find yourself wondering: “What is what?” Indeed, the 'front' and the 'back' occasionally switch places. Wrapped presents and 'views through a window' create the difference. In other words, the effect of the backdrops has been played with in varying creative ways, causing the depth effect to change with each view and gift.
