Bpost partner of SOS Children's Villages in 2025
In 2025, bpost entered into a partnership with SOS Children's Villages. There had already been a successful fundraising campaign in Belgian post offices that raised no less than over 113.000 euros. But bpost's commitment goes further. SOS Children's Villages also helps children process trauma through art with the City Jewel project, an artwork designed by artist Laura Nsengiyumva. It consists of 300 beads, each telling a story about childhood trauma. On August 28, 2025, bpost issued a sheet of 'Mystamps' stamps (limited: 30.000 copies).
Bpost helps SOS Children's Villages with stamps to raise awareness of childhood trauma.
Today, one in ten children grows up in an unsafe environment in Belgium, and this can have serious consequences. To reinforce this message from SOS Children's Villages, bpost is launching a new stamp sheet. The reality is confronting: one in ten children in Belgium grows up in an unsafe environment. Abuse, neglect, and mistreatment leave deep, often lifelong scars on the victims. Yet childhood trauma often remains under the radar and untreated. Fortunately, awareness can make a difference.
10 stamps, 130 stories
A sheet of bpost stamps on the theme was issued on August 28, 2025, at the Antwerp Butterfly Palace in the presence of victims and Federal Minister Annelies Verlinden (Justice). The sheet consists of ten stamps, each referencing a part of the collective artwork Stadsjuweel. That artwork, which will be on display for a month at the Antwerp Butterfly Palace, tells more than 130 stories of survivors of childhood trauma through artistic beads.
Comments
“Behind every bead lies a story that needs to be heard. They also show that healing is possible, provided there is recognition, time, guidance, and policy,” states Hilde Boeykens , National Director of SOS Children’s Villages. “This is an invitation to listen and to act.”
Tina Hernalsteen , Director of Retail & Banking at bpost: “At bpost, we are happy to support initiatives that draw attention to socially relevant themes. The Stadsjuweel is a wonderful inspiration for the images on the stamps. In the past, we have also issued stamps around themes such as pregnancy loss, loneliness, or human rights.”
“Every child deserves to grow up in a safe environment,” adds Vanessa Matz , Minister for Public Modernization. “With these special stamps, bpost draws attention to an issue that often remains hidden. It is an example of the social commitment they can demonstrate as a public company.”
