Deviations on the 2024 and 1989 children's stamps
Upon the release of the 1926 Special Catalogue, the descriptions of deviations on the 2024 children's stamps (pp. 3 & 200) are not equally clear to everyone. In combination with the commentary by Mr. Prins (September 19, 5:40 PM), a visual and point-by-point supplement follows here. Goal: more visually supported clarity for collectors.
Differences between the 2024 children's stamp – block and prestige booklet
Image 1: Children's stamp from the block (NVPH 4237a) • With letter-numeric code JiFD5c at the bottom. Image 2: Children's stamp from the prestige booklet (NVPH 4237A) • QR code has been rotated: both squares are at the top. This makes the comparison easier.
Key differences between both stamps
• Perforation: 14 × 14 (block) versus 13¾ × 14 (prestige). • Letter-numeric code: only present on the block stamp. • QR code finish: – block: mini-relief & glossy, – prestige: flat & matte. • Printing technique: visibly different. • QR functionality: – block: leads to a webpage where you can enter a message yourself, – prestige: always leads to the same fixed information page.
World premiere large format children's stamp 2024 is unique
The large-format children's stamps are one of a kind! Each children's stamp features a different QR code and a different letter-number code, as clearly shown in the images below.
Differences between 1989 children's stamp – sheet and block
Image 3: Sheet stamp (NVPH 1436A) • Text is printed on the top right of the inner section. • Perforation: 13¼ × 13¾. Image 4: Block stamp (NVPH 1436B) • The area on the top right of the inner section is blank. • Perforation: 14 × 12¾.

In both the 2025 and 1989 issues, we see that minor technical differences (perforation, codes, printing technique, finishing) create a clear distinction between sheet-fed, block-fed, and prestige editions. By visually placing these variants side by side, what the catalogue text often mentions only briefly becomes immediately apparent.

We will add details of the sandwich stamp in the 2017 edition. It is important to note that these are not equivalent matters. The fact that the 2025 was deliberately changed and that the stamp from the block also has (or will have) an extra functionality makes it truly a different 'case' or, alternatively, a main issue. The sandwich results in a difference similar to that between 536a and 536b, so it is correctly a subissue.
Sorry, 2027 edition of course….

It might be good to add to Mr. Hylkema's story that the letter-number code JiFD5c is a unique code and that the stamp on each sheet has a different code. (as does a different QR code)
code).
Erik Boeré: “Interesting to know that too. Thanks!”
Halfway through the article, it was expanded to include the fact that the 2025 children's stamp issue features a world first!
A different code on every stamp… The print run is 1.350.000 sheets, so 1.350.000 new master numbers in the next catalog? 😉
Each sheet is indeed unique; the same can of course be said of the crypto stamps, and among the scratch stamps (NVPH 2540/49) there are probably some very special ones as well, with a prize that can no longer be claimed under the scratch layer... The characteristic of this stamp is simply that each stamp has its own number, and then the q1 number suffices. Incidentally, in the FRG and Germany, many stamps also have a unique QR code...
