875th stamp blog: Supplementary stamps USA

We have a tradition of low-value supplementary stamps, such as the 2, 3, 5, and 10 euro cent numeral stamps. Do you still use those, or is it no longer necessary due to the '1', '2', and 'INT' value stamps? The USA also has low-value stamps, such as the 1, 2, 3, 5, and 10 dollar cents. The 4 cent stamp featuring 'Angel Trumpets' has now been released. Do you collect the USA as a country?

USA low value stamps

This 4-cent Angel's Trumpets stamp follows the issuance of other low-value flower stamps in 2024: 1-cent Fringed Tulip, 2-cent Daffodils, 3-cent Peonies, 5-cent Red Tulips, and 10-cent Poppies and Coneflowers. Low-value stamps are available in sheets of 20 and rolls of 10.000. To create these images, photographer Harold Davis backlit the flowers on a light box and combined multiple photos, resulting in a luminous, transparent look. Ethel Kessler, art director at USPS, designed these stamps. The angel's trumpet (Brugmansia) is a tropical plant native to South America belonging to the nightshade family, known for its large, fragrant, hanging flowers. The plant is extremely poisonous and can be fatal, but is widely cultivated as a container plant due to its strong, sweet scent in the evening. They grow quickly and require plenty of water and nutrients.
